Kitchen Floor Design
The client wanted to create a "WoW" factor floor for their new kitchen

How to improve this existing floor?!
The existing travertine floor already looked good so how was I to make it really special?
Features
We needed to incorporate the features of the property into the new design
Size matters!
This 1200 square foot area needed to show off the grandness and scale that it deserves.
Curved or straight?
Within the existing features there are curves and straight lines. I needed to reflect these into the design

Firstly we needed to remove the existing tiles
Clean up and level
After removing the debris we self leveled the entire floor and marked out the new design layout with chalk
Demo begins

Wood intergration
I decided to intergrate the wood in the design to match in with the ceiling detail
Location, location!
The positioning of ther slabs was key to the overall effect of the floor design

To get the best feel for how the floor would look I decided to intergrate the floor design with their new kitchen design
Curved area
The nook at the end of the kitchen was to be for an informal seating area. I decided to keep this area as wood.

More leveling
To compensate for the different thickness in the flooring we needed to self level again

In order for the floor to be perfect the acclimatized wood needed to have a snug fit

Final result
The final design looks amazing and the client is so happy that they are contemplating doing the whole house the same!
